Denise has been managing the practice since her husband, Dr. Juriga, purchased from Dr. Lovett in the year 2000. She graduated from the University of Illinois where she met football standout Jim Juriga. While attending Illinois, she earned all Big Ten Honors as a scholarship athlete for Volleyball. In addition, she was named to the Senior 100 Class, which honors 100 seniors in a given class for their unique contributions plus outstanding leadership and academic qualities in activities at the University. In the past 14 years, she has directed the progression of the practice from a single veterinarian practice to a multi-veterinarian practice. She helped design and oversee the current facility’s construction and acquisition of medical staff and equipment. Prior to joining Valley, Denise was a commercial insurance underwriter and part time tax preparer. The hospital has been a part of her family life. All three of her children and pets (maybe not "Marley", a Cavachon) have lent a helping hand here at Valley. Dillon, her late yellow lab has even donated his blood.

Jenny has worked here at Valley Animal Hospital since 2001. She has two cats named Jaguar and Stinky. She started as a Kennel Assistant and soon after was trained to be a Veterinary Technician. Jenny has always loved animals and grew up wanting to become a veterinarian. She graduated from North Central College in Naperville as a member of the National Honors Society in Psychology, with a degree in Psychology and a minor in sociology, art and criminal justice. Jenny is now our Technician Team Leader and inventory manager, which means she helps organize the hospital, conducts employee meetings, and oversees the service and care given to both our clients and our patients.

Bri came to Valley after working at a local emergency veterinary hospital. Prior to her career change to the veterinary field, she worked in retail management for ten years prior. Her love for people and veterinary care brought her to the Valley Animal Hospital team in May of 2016! Outside of work, Bri has a passion for biking, yoga, art, and reading. At home, Bri has one cat, Sebastian, and beloved plants, Herbert, Scrappy, and Fawn. Yes, plants deserve love too!

Marge has been a member of our staff since January 2013. She has worked in the medical field for many years for a neurologist and a pediatrician before coming to Valley Animal Hospital. Marge loves working “up front” and interacting with the clients; she enjoys spending time with our furry friends, and their owners, too. She shares her home with her husband and their two dogs, Corona a yellow Labrador retriever and Brandi a Lab mix. Marge is also the proud parent of two grown children.

Anna joined our team in September 2013 and is excited to be part of VAH. Prior to joining VAH, Anna had volunteered her time for the Fox Valley Wildlife Center. Anna is a mother of three wonderful girls, and she has 3 dogs, 1 rabbit, 2 doves, and a fresh water aquarium!

Jody joined the VAH team in April of 2016! Prior to joining our staff, Jody was self-employed and working in the transcription field, a job that offered many advantages yet felt less than fulfilling. To begin a new chapter in her life, she explored the possibility of exchanging the task of listening to voices on a recording, to listening to barks and meows up close and personal. As one charmed by furry, and sometimes hairless, animals, being part of an animal hospital fit perfectly with her goal of surrounding herself with people that work to bring the best possible experience to pets and those who love them. When not at Valley, Jody shares her love of movies with her husband, Howard, and her 19-year-old son, Ben. Her love of books, not so much!

Kathy, CVT

Kathy lives here in Geneva and joined our staff in July of 2005 after graduating from the Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in Denver, Colorado. Kathy has one daughter named Tiffany. She has 5 cats, Arwen, Patches, Peaches, Shania and Orange Juice. She loves educating our clients on anything they want to know! Kathy has wanted to work with animals since she was a little girl, just ask her mom. In case you're looking for someone to watch your pets while you are on vacation, Kathy is a highly recommended pet sitter.

Lauren, CVT

Lauren joined Valley Animal Hospital in September 2013, but has been working as a veterinary technician since 2004. She received her bachelor’s in Equine Studies at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. After completing her undergraduate degree she went on to Joliet Junior College where she received her Veterinary Technician Certification in 2012. Lauren has one orange and white cat named George, and a tortie named Nugget! In her spare time, Lauren loves anything to do with the outdoors, especially fishing and hiking.

Kari-ane, CVT

After graduating from the Veterinary Medical Technology Program at Joliet Junior College, Kari-ane joined Valley in June of 2016. Shortly after, she passed her national board exam to add on the title of Certified Veterinary Technician. Kari-ane has two precious cats of her own, Bueller and Petey, whom were rescued from DuPage County Animal Control, and a gold fish. She is also a board member and dog foster mom for Villa Bark Rescue! When Kari-ane is not busy taking care of everyone else’s animals and her own, she enjoys: attending concerts, traveling, eating as much Mexican food and sushi as she can stuff in her mouth, and making really good (and bad) puns every chance she gets!

Olivia has been working at our hospital since 2003. Olivia has three cats, Reese's Pieces, Maya and Sebastian. Her areas of interest include assisting in surgery, dental health, and radiography. Outside of work, Olivia loves doing art and photography projects. She also spends free time taking dance classes and performing.

Lindsay started with us back in 2002. She has three cats named Boo Boo, Nemo, and Olaf. She loves being a veterinary technician because every day is always a unique experience. It is really rewarding for her to see pets she treated and cared for return healthier and happier. Her areas of interest include assisting with surgery and performing pet dental cleanings. When Lindsay is not working, she loves spending time with her two daughters and son.

Penny has over 20 years of experience working in the veterinary field. She has 2 dogs, Kahlula and Gypsy, and 2 cats, Jersey and Mooch. Penny enjoys performing lab work and helping patients and their owners feel better. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, especially camping and being outdoors.

Elizabeth is a wonderful asset to our VAH team! She started at Valley in August of 2012, and although she is known for many things, we love her for her impeccable memory and her constant happy demeanor. When Elizabeth is not here at Valley, assisting our doctors as a technician and helping our clients in reception, she is often found spending time with her family. Elizabeth and her husband, Brandon, have 3 wonderful children, Zachary, Sean, and Monica, and one Dachshund named Millie! She loves to watch her son play soccer, and to root on our Chicago Blackhawks!

Christie was born and raised in Geneva and has always been passionate about animals. Christie joined our team in 2016 and has since been trained as a Veterinary Assistant and hopes to become a CVT in the future! Prior to working at VAH Christie graduated from the Equine Science Program at Black Hawk College before transferring to Western Illinois University where she received a Bachelors in Communications with a minor in Animal Science. Outside of work Christie enjoys art, the outdoors, horseback riding, and spending time with her animals. She has a Quarter pony named Honey Bee, a black lab mix named Ali, and a Box Turtle named Fred!

Murdock is our current clinic cat. He loves to hang out in the doctors’ office and makes a great lap cat. He makes sure everyone stays hard at work. In his spare, time Murdock loves to eat, sleep, and play with his toys…he especially loves his catnip!
